The town of Carmel applied for a state grant to cover the costs back in March. Deputy County Executive Bruce Walker announced during a July 8 meeting that the county had yet to receive money from the state, the Examiner noted.

Another way for the county to receive the money was to put in a request for proposal with the state, Walker told the Examiner in an interview.

Carmel Supervisor Ken Schmitt disagreed with Walker, telling the Examiner that the Carmel Town Board needed more time to discuss the proposal.
